An Easter Message

Dear friends,

The last few weeks have been perhaps the most difficult and trying time most of us have ever known. In addition to the privations that we have all experienced, many of us have been directly affected by illness, and some have lost loved ones to the Covid 19 virus.

So too, our Easter preparations this year, may perhaps seem pointless. And yet, if we stop to think for a moment, we find ourselves to be very much like Christ’s disciples after the crucifixion on Good Friday. Their lives too, had changed completely. Everything had been taken from them. Their hopes, their joys. Everything died with Christ on the Cross. Desolation overcame them. And then....Easter.....and the Risen Christ. What joy filled their hearts. Christ’s promise to them had been fulfilled.

This Easter, although we are unable to attend church, or visit, or be with our families, Christ is Risen. He is with us just as surely as he was for His disciples on that first Easter morning. Our hearts are filled with Joy. Once again we have Hope. Christ died for us, and rose from the dead to save us. What a gift we have been given. Alleluia! Christ is Risen.

Special Thanks

As with any holiday, we are thankful for the blessings we have received. Two of those blessings are the dedicated funeral directors from the New Hyde Park Funeral Home, John Ciolko and Christine Galvin, who have risen to the occasion in these extraordinary and unprecedented times. They are working tirelessly to respond to the community with compassion and professionalism.
