My name is Kerianne Stein and I am honored to have the opportunity to run this year's NYC Marathon in memory of Katie McBride - as well as team up with the Katie McBride Foundation to raise funds for their wonderful mission.
I ran my first full marathon in Chicago in October of 2016. Since then, I have run two more full marathons - the Walt Disney World Marathon (in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) and the Boston Marathon Tough Ruck (in support of the Military Friends Foundation). I am excited to get out there in November and run a full marathon in my home state - and even more excited for run in support of a foundation so close to my heart. I have been participating in Katie's Run for the past six years, and my parents have been members of the Katie's Run committee since the race's inception. I train at least 3-4 times a week, as I am a member of the Team in Training running group in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - where I previously worked, managing their Pennies for Patients campaign.
I currently work as a Director for Major Gifts at Hofstra University, my alma mater. I often enjoy going for a run around our beautiful campus before or after work. In my leisure time, I enjoy traveling around the country to run half marathons. I have a bucket list goal of completing a half marathon in every state. I have run in 12 different states thus far and will be checking two more off the list before the end of 2019. I also had a bucket list goal of running the NYC Marathon and cannot wait to officially cross that off my list.
